Main organizer Blue Bay Curaçao Golf & Beach Resort and co-organizers Hensley ‘Bam Bam’ Meulens (San Francisco Giants and Manager Team Kingdom Of The Netherlands) and Ben Thijssen (Coach Team Kingdom Of The Netherlands) presents with pride the Blue Bay Curaçao Baseball Week 2016. The event is organized to promote baseball on Curaçao and in honour to the homecoming of our local baseball stars. This year’s event is all about free coach seminars, free kids clinics, an exclusive dinner with guest speakers and auction items for charity and the spectacular Ball Park Night in the Tio Daou Ball Park. The CBW takes place from November 25th till December 2nd.

Players & Coaches

The following players have confirmed their attendance to the CBW 2016: Didi Gregorius, Jonathan Schoop, Jurickson Profar, Kalian Sams, Ozhaino Albies, Sharlon Schoop, Juremi Profar, Carlton Daal, Chris Garia, Darren Seferina, Diegomar Markwell, Shairon Martis, Hainley Statia, Kevin Moesquit and Sherman Lacrus. Several other big and surprising international players will be announced the coming period. American coaches John Vodenlich and Jerry Weinstein (University Wisconsin – Whitewater) will also participate in the CBW. From the Netherlands a delegation of the KNBSB will travel to Curaçao with two coaches of Team Kingdom Of The Netherlands: Steve Janssen and Sidney de Jong. Coach Eugene Kingsale from Aruba will be present at the CBW as well.

Kids Clinics & Coach Seminars

Vincent Zrour, organizer of the CBW: ‘‘in about two weeks a spectacular week will start and the dreams of many kids will come true. The Ball Park Night as major closure of the event, 4.000 tickets, will be an unforgettable experience in the stadium. Around 1.200 kids who are playing baseball on Curaçao will get the chance to participate in a free CBW clinic in the Tio Daou Ball Park on Monday November 28 and Wednesday 30. The MLB will be present to host their so-called ‘Pitch, Hit & Run’ program on Tuesday November 29 and Thursday December 1st. All kids can register for these clinics at their coach or via the website www.curacaobaseballweek.com. Besides the tips and tricks from players and coaches, a meet & greet, a drink and snack for the baseball kids, Curaçao is invited to witness these clinics in the stadium, free entrance!’’ Thanks to the coach seminars local coaches will be helped in improving their knowledge about baseball. Local and international coaches can register for these seminars via the website of the CBW to secure a spot on time. Above-mentioned international coaches will give presentations. The practice sessions will take place in the Ball Park on Saturday and Sunday November 26th and 27th.

Inspirational Charity Dinner

The exclusive inspirational charity dinner takes place on Tuesday November 29 at the Sunset Bar & Grill on the pier of Blue Bay Beach. This year the dinner is all about special guests: Churandy Martina (Blue Bay Chief Smile Officer), Didi Gregorius and Pernell Saturnino. During this dinner, they will talk about their sport- and music careers and lifetime stories. Besides the two auction items of every speaker, also other unique items will be auctioned. Ball Park Night

Friday December 2nd the major closure of the CBW 2016 takes place at the Tio Daou Ball Park with 4.000 entrance tickets available. A special night, because besides the unique presence of all top players and coaches on one field, the Ball Park Night is all about fun and entertainment by MC Chris Strick, DJ Carlito and NJ Entertainment. The doors are open from 4pm and we start-off with an All Star Senior League game, followed by the Celebrity Softball Game. Famous people from Curaçao are invited to experience this special softball moment together with the CBW players and coaches. Until the match day it will be a surprise who will attend the Celebrity game, but the team will consist of famous musicians, athletes, artists and baseball veterans from the island. After the games a spectacular Home Run Derby with fireworks.
