Jurickson Barthelomeus “El Patron” Profar was born on February 20th 1993 in Willemstad, Curaçao. In 2004 and 2005 Profar was part of the Curaçao Little League baseball team that played at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and in 2004 he was one of the key players that helped Curaçao capture a Little League World Series championship.

On the 2nd of July of 2009, Profar was signed by the Texas Rangers as a free agent shortstop. In 2011 and 2012 he was selected to represent the Texas Rangers at the MLB Futures Game after 2 solid seasons playing in the Texas Rangers farm system.

He finally made his MLB debut with the Rangers on September 2nd 2012, and in his first major league at bat he homered of Zach McAllister He entered the 2013 MLB season as the no. 1 ranked prospect by Baseball America, but he missed the entire 2014 and 2015 season due to shoulder injuries.

During the 2016 and 2017 season, Profar spent most of the time playing for the Triple-A affiliate of the Rangers but he’s also had stints in the majors with the Texas Rangers.

Profar was also part of The Kingdom of the Netherlands baseball team at the 2013 and 2017 World Baseball Classic, particularly in 2017 World Baseball Classic he put on a show after hitting .464 during the tournament.
